AO: PAX Gone Wild

PAX (3): Speedo, Stroller, Zohan

Preamble:

After last year’s monthly Murphs, YHC wanted to change things up a bit by choosing a different Hero WOD each month. The Robbie Miller WOD came to mind immediately as one that I had been thinking about, but had never been willing to make the time for. Sent it to Zohan and Speedo and Zohan immediately suggested today (and also told me this was a terrible idea). It was only a matter of time before we talked Speedo into it.

The weather forecast was no.t in our favor, but nonetheless we all made it to Newtown at 0500 to get this done.

The Thang:

3 mile ruck

12 rounds:

  • 6 Sandbag Rows
  • 6 Ruck Burpees w Squat
  • 6 Mountain Climbers (4 ct)
  • 6 Ruck Getups

3 mile ruck

Some rain at first, some flurries later, constant wind, but the work got done. Zohan gave us the heads up on the initial ruck that the getups would be the worst part, and he was right. On the bright side, we only needed to continue for 14 more hours to complete a GrowRuck.

COT:

We shared a bit about accelerating our relationships with our Ms.

Zohan provided hot tea whisky and we stayed a few more minutes until the wind drove us away.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

A year ago, I had no idea that our prayers for a 3rd baby would be answered so soon, or that I would lose my dad within a couple months. The goals I set at the beginning of the year were guideposts to keep going through the change and stay focused. When you set goals, make it meaningful, and commit to achieving them. Otherwise it is way too easy to make excuses and find a way to avoid doing the hard work. Aye!
