Farmer’s Chase

AO: The Wreck

When: 12/31/2021

QIC: aflac

PAX (13): Bear, Boomstick, Foley, goat, Juul, Matt Shields-Norm, Meltdown, MillerTime, No-See-Um, Sell-out, Yankee, Grouper (F3 Nature Coast)

Preamble:

On the final day of 2021, incentives were in abundance to coax Bronco away from his beloved Peloton, including a sacrificial offering of burpees from OG MillerTime and the attendance of a guest PAX from F3 Nature Coast.  It would ultimately amount to a fruitless exercise, as not even the finest meats and cheeses in the land would be enough to roust him out of the fartsack and into the gloom with this fellow PAX.

Warm-O-Rama:

After a quick round of disclaimers, mumble-chatter ensued as Q directed PAX to fetch a coupon from Juul’s truck and Cusack towards the first parking lot for the following warm-ups:

  • SSH’s
  • Abe Vigoda’s
  • Hillbilly’s
  • 5 Burpees OYO

The Thang:

Q directed PAX to continue Cusack toward the bottom of the entrance leading up the hill to the CAB (community activity building).  While waiting on the six, YHC noticed a trailing PAX that seemed to be missing a coupon.  Fresh off a Badapple BD, Goat decided on a daily double but didn’t arrive in time for proper instructions.  After sending him off to fetch a proper coupon, Q provided instructions to the remaining PAX as follows:

  • Push coupon all the way up the hill until reaching the speed-bump at the top.
  • Perform the following:
    • 10 Curls
    • 10 Thrusters
    • 10 Overhead Press

Note to self – saturated coupons are heavier and much less compliant on wet pavement than dry ones.  They form this weird glue-like paste that acts like an epoxy.  This fact was confirmed by other PAX looking smoked after reaching the apex on the first round.

With all PAX reaching the speed-bump at the top, Q directed them back down the hill for another round anticipating Goat’s timely arrival. A quick round of 10 Curls/Thursters/Overhead Press (plus 10 Skull-Crushers) while waiting.  With Goat finally in tow carrying a proper coupon, Q directed PAX to push the coupon back up the hill to the speed-bump.  YHC and a few others (Bear, notably) sucked it up and pushed all the way to the top, however, PAX at the Wreck have gotten all too comfortable lately with mutinous behavior – this resulted in the majority of PAX simply walking up the hill on round 2.  Need to remedy this in 2022.

After a final round of 10 Curls/Thrusters/Overhead Press, Q provided instructions for the next exercise as follows:

  • Partner up with someone that you haven’t partnered with before.
  • Partner A would farmer-carry coupons around the CAB/Pool/Gymnastics loop, while Partner B would perform 5 Burpees.
  • Once completed, Partner B would run to catch Partner A where they would switch roles.
  • Rinse/repeat for 1 full loop (exactly .4 miles)

Mary for the six.  Next round, same pattern as above but substitute 15 Merkins instead of Burpees.  Once again, Mary for the six upon completion.

With everyone in, Q directed PAX to rifle-carry coupon to the playground for a couple rounds of Morning Call, coupon-style.  Instructions were given as follows:

  • 2 PAX perform 5 Pull-Ups while all others perform 5 Overhead Press (in cadence).
  • Rinse/repeat until all PAX had a turn at Pull-Ups.
  • 2 PAX perform 5 Pull-Ups while all others perform 5 Curls (in cadence).
  • Rinse/repeat until all PAX had a turn at Pull-Ups.

With T minus 5 on the clock, head back to the flag for a couple rounds of Mary, starting with Diamond Merkins and finishing with Crunchy Frogs.

COT:

  • 5-year anniversary for No-See-Um and F3 Lutz (Nature Coast).
  • Continued prayers for those dealing with COVID.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Great to see MillerTime and No-See-Um this morning.  YHC Q’d Rubicon earlier this week and it was a fresh reminder how good it is to get out and stir the pot at other AO’s.  COVID has made it far too easy to stay hunkered down in the name of staying healthy, but so much else is lost by not getting out of our comfort zone.

Much to be thankful for this year and very fortunate to be associated with this group of HIM.

AFLAC out.
