Preamble:

It’s The Norseman’s anniversary!!!  Kinda.

Technically our anniversary was last month on September 4th, but it’s never too late to celebrate!

Warm-O-Rama:

Our AO was started on 9-4-18 so those were our numbers for today.   To start we moseyed over by the pond and did:

  • 18 SSH
  • 18 Hillibilies
  • 18 weedpickers

The Thang:

To celebrate we did a mini park tour a three different sites to celebrate the three years of The Norseman.  Our first site was the amphitheater/playground.  We moseyed through the woods and found the amphitheater.  Our first workout was nines (think 11s but use nine instead) starting at the amphitheater for decline merkins then up the hill to the playground for pullups.

Next we moseyed over to the softball fields for a little leg work.  18 squats, 18 Bonnie Blaire’s, 18 monkey humpers, and 18 jump squats.  In between those 4 stations we did lunges while our Noseman OGs regaled us with their favorite Norseman stories.  Some great memories.  We heard about multiple trespassing violations, tires rolling down hills into the woods and beatdowns during a hurricane.

Finally we moseyed over to the pavilion.  Any idea how many members are on The Noseman slack channel?  89.  So we grabbed a partner, one ran to the other pavillion while the partner did burpees, then switch, all the way to 89.

Back at the flag Stu made us do fire hydrants.  Can’t wait to not sit down all day now.

COT:

In addition to our regular name-o-rama each of the PAX told a good memory about The Norseman.  We heard about stolen cars, condemned bridges, horrible beatdown ideas, hibernation, and even more beatdowns during a hurricane.  And for some reason seemingly half of the stories involved a Nacho Libre Q.  It was really fun to reminisce with everyone.  Best part of the workout for sure.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Northpark is really a great place to have an AO. We are lucky to have so much space to roam and so many varied resources to utilize…But without all the PAX it would just be another empty park at 5:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Thank you men for all the fitness, laughter, fun, and friendship that you have brought to myself and so many others over the past three years.

Only ten more months until we get to celebrate another anniversary!
