Preamble:

The men of The Norseman are continuing to celebrate the 75 anniversary of the Normandy invasion, Operation Overlord, that we call D-day. Today’s workout is the GORUCK workout entitled “Operation Overlord”. We rucked up and got moving at 0530 and headed out to the pavilion by the Miracle League field.

We rucked over to turf field #2 for the workout:

Operation Overlord

Operation Overlord was the codename for the invasion of Normandy by allied forces during WWII on June 6, 1944 (6-6-44)

AMRAP in 20 minutes

  • 60 meter suitcase carry (switch hands at 30 meters)
  • 60 meter bear crawl
  • 44 Russian twists
  • 60 meter suitcase carry
  • 60 meter bear crawl
  • 44 Burpees (ruck on or off) No one chose ruck on!

We made it through 1 1/2 rotations and completed the bear crawl back to the start for round #2 of Burpees when the time ran out.

We rucked over to the pull up bars for Morning Call

Hold plank with your ruck on as one by one each PAX runs over and does 10 pull ups (no ruck) and then returns to the plank. Two rounds for all PAX.

Ruck back over to the flag for Mary:

  • Freddie Mercury
  • Obliques

 

COT:

TAP for Stu’s son who is having health issues.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

First ruck for Stu and Callahan. Callahan was killing it on the bear crawls. Nacho was heading out on his heals until he had a biological necessity break. It was great to have the Norsemen 4 out today. Looking forward to Beaker getting back from National Guard duty.
