Preamble:

We kicked off a rainy morning with 4 out for the full Twisted Surprise.  I had thrown out the option of a 0630 pickup option for this week, but I think the weather put a real damper on that invite … Scully was our only taker to finish out the second half.  Things started looking up though as we rolled back into the lot for the beatdown.  We had 10 total with 1 FNG (Rocket Man) and the Return of Jim (a near FNG now known as Squirtle).  I have felt bad about Jim’s rocky intro to F3 for weeks now, so I was really glad to see him there for the beatdown … plus his posting cost Pellets a 100 burpee bet … added bonus.

Warm-O-Rama:

With 2 FNGs in the group, I felt we should do an AO intro right out the gate.  So we moseyed over to the Widowmaker hill and down to the base.  There we gathered for a warmup of IC SSH, mountain climbers and weed pickers.  To really get the blood pumping, I added a series of jumping jack burpee flash.  1 to 5 ratio of burpees to SSH, done at opposite sides of the parking lot, continuing up to 5 burpees and 25 SSH.

The Thang:

We lined up at the base of the hill.  All PAX did 10 merkins, 10 squats and 10 LBCs at the base, run to the manhole, do 20-20-20, then run to the top and finish with 30-30-30.  With all gathered at the top, we ran over to the playground by the pull-up area for a morning call.  All lined up in plank.  1 at a time each man ran over and did 5 pull-ups.  All others did 5 merkins with the count.  Down the line until all have done their pull-ups.  We headed back to the soccer field and circled up in the middle.  On the way, I grabbed the workout dice I made during the last week.  One die had the exercises – burpee, merkin, squat, lunge, sit-up and run.  The other die had the count – 5, 10, 10, 15, 15, 20.  Time to roll craps.  Around the circle each man took a turn rolling the dice and all would do the exercise and count shown.  We completed 2 rounds of the circle.  As much as we hoped for it, 20 burpees did not come up.  For the last sequence, we moved over to the stadium seats for 11s with dips at the bottom and step-ups at the top.  We finished with 90 seconds of Mary at the flag (dying cockroach and American hammer).

COT:

Flo and Zohan showed up from the Ruck to join us for the COT.

Prayers for healing for Zohan’s hand and our other PAX injured or sick.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It was really great to see strong numbers this morning even with a number of our regulars out of the mix training for the Star Ruck.  Welcome to our FNGs and hope they will continue to post with us.
