Surprise, Surprise, Surprise

Preamble:

Well, our Q on paper (The_Real_Woody) decided his ankle needed a little more recovery time so YHC took the reins about 10:30 pm last night (or at least it felt like that) ….Surprise #1.

4 Pre-Ruckers and 4-ish Pre-Runners….Caffey decided to just go run a marathon prior to joining the pax right after the BD.

Disclaimer was given and off we went…..but wait! Surprise #2

YHC has been off and on talking about drawing straws for the QIC when one isn’t signed up by the night before and today was perfect opportunity. Turbine was the lucky ‘short-straw’ guy so he was the other Co-Q on the day (fyi – big mistake by me!).

The Thang:

Back by the flag where two 40# sandbags were retrieved and taken to NMS track.

11’s with Lunges (alpha) & Diamond Merkins….but a twist in the middle where pax chose either 2 regular burpees or 1 with sandbag (both passes). This was a little bit of a heater but nothing compared to what Turbine would put us through.

Turbine’s turn:

• 100 HR Merkins w/ hands straight out to side
• 200 Bulgarian Squats (single)
• 300 Big Boys (turned in to LBC’s for those straggling at the end)

This was a killer or maybe it was just the 5+ mile ruck YHC did before the beatdown. But alas a break as the pax discovered super cold mountain spring water, on the field leftover from last night’s games, as well as blue powerade. This gave the men just the kick they needed to finish out the morning’s work.

Back to the NMS wall for some AMRAP Merkins while partner did BTTW till exhaustion & drop.

Surprise #3 – While waiting on the Co-Site Q to show after his marathon, YHC broke out some amazing, hydrating Watermelon!! All enjoyed this nice treat.

Surprise #4 – This is the one all the pax had been waiting for as Caffey & YHC unveiled who the next Site Q of Nirvana would be. None other than Mr. Consistent, Mr. Steady, Mr. “Man that is about to EH ALL of Edenwild with his new leadership role”……Special K!

Looking forward to seeing Nirvana go to new heights under his leadership!

A few observations on the morning…..

• Dosido is an exceptionally efficient shuffler with his Ruck on.
• If Turbine draws the short straw again, switch the rules to longest straw wins! But truly thank you for taking over and busting our asses!
• Watermelon after an F3 beatdown is never a bad call.
