It was a dark and stormy ruck…

Preamble:

Lying in his bed at 4 AM YHC heard the rumble of thunder and the pounding rain on the roof and knew that he and the PAX were in for a real treat of a ruck in just a few hours. YHC had watched slack for several days as the anticipation was building for our once a month ruck outing. Would it be just a pure ruck, or would there be pain? Would there be burpees, merkins, squats and an all around good time?

YHC kept having the thought – like a casket made of glass, “remains to be seen”.

Warm-O-Rama:

All PAX suited up in rain gear, rucks, weight vests, and the like. At the hour of 7AM we commenced. Provided disclaimer enroute. We trudged around the AO for a bit to allow time for one of the PAX who had some urgent business to attend to…not naming names but his initials are ACE VENTURA.

Once rejoined by Ace we warmed up by making a couple of trips up and down the stairs.

The Thang:

Took the long route around by the fire station. Stopped for a pain station beside the nursing home and then rucked to the high school. Did some up and down snakes through both the home and visitor side of the stadium doing rifle ruck carries going up and bear carries down. We circled for a few minutes while some more PAX had to take a Bio-break at the high school. Then marched back to the AO. Came in right at 8AM and finished with 5-rucked up burpees.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Good coffeteria with lots of good conversation on a wide range of topics. Always a joy and a privilege to lead.
