We gonna see them aliens and clap some alien cheeks

AO: The Bridge

When: 09/20/2019

QIC: Popper

PAX (7): Animal, Homer, Piggy, Ready-Mix, Ball Boy, Meatball

Preamble:

YHC made the second of three stops along his F3 anniversary Q tour at The Bridge in Peachtree Corners this morning. Today is the day 250k Naruto-runners will storm Area 51, see them aliens, and clap some alien cheeks. The government can’t stop us all, and word on the street is if you Naruto-run, their bullets can’t hit you. Being in suburban Atlanta which is decidedly not the Nevada desert, the Bridge PAX had to settle for a playlist of alien- and space-themed music, a demonstration of a Naruto runĀ  performed by Yours Truly, and an alien encounter of our own.

Playlist:

  1. It’s the End of the World as We Know It – R.E.M.
  2. Space Oddity – David Bowie
  3. Intergalactic – Beastie Boys
  4. Starlight – Muse
  5. Subterranean Homesick Alien – Radiohead
  6. Rocket Man – Elton John
  7. Starman – David Bowie
  8. Supermassive Black Hole – Muse
  9. Ziggy Stardust – David Bowie
  10. Come Sail Away – Styx

At some point around Ziggy Stardust, no joke, the aliens took over the bluetooth speaker and switched it to Taylor Swift’s latest pop hits. Perhaps the aliens have been hovering, picking up our radio waves, and developed an ear for angsty teen anthems.

Warm-O-Rama:

Two PAX for a pre-beatdown shield lock run. Then the warmup in earnest:

  • Mosey around Cinebistro w/side-to-side
  • Gather at the otherworldly orb
  • SSH
  • Weed picker
  • Windmill
  • Imperial walker
  • Moroccan nightclub

The Thang:

Thang 1:

Doomsday clock w/planks and merkins. Piggy is a beast. 7 PAX made it pretty close or past 200 merkins.

Thang 2:

Circuit at the otherworldly orb. Completed one full circuit with each PAX doing each exercise once.

  1. Mosey lap around Cinebistro (timer)
  2. Inverted row on otherwordly orb
  3. Squat w/ruck
  4. LBC’s
  5. Curl-press w/ruck
  6. Bonnie Blairs
  7. V-Ups

Thang 3:

Baseball around the green. Paired up (YHC went solo). Completed one full rotation with each group doing each exercise once.

  1. Stage: 20 burpees (timer)
  2. Flags: Plank destroyers
  3. Otherworldly orb: Inverted row
  4. Big steps: Step-ups w/ruck

Thang 4:

Doomsday clock w/boat pose and V-Ups. Piggy is a beast again. This time we made it into maybe the 60’s or 70’s.

Mary:

Just enough time to do 10 reps of Breakdance as our Mary. Thanks Denari of F3 Chicago for introducing YHC to this challenging move.

COT:

Prayers for friends and family facing bereavement and difficult struggles with cancer. Prayers for wives holding down the fort while husbands travel. Prayers that the Lord would strengthen us for our various offices (husband, father, son, coworker, boss, employee, etc).

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Second stop of the anniversary Q tour is another success. Afterwards with free Revelator coffee in hand, spoke with newish PAX about considering taking on his Virgin Q at some point soon. As is often the case, his brothers in the gloom count him worthy for the task long before he does. May we all strengthen and encourage one another to stretch beyond our comfort zones and take on new servant leadership challenges.
