That Shield Lock Run Was Fun. Let’s Do It Again.

AO: The Hooch

When: 07/15/2019

QIC: Homer

PAX (6): Meatball, Sunshine, Pooh-Bear, Piggy, Feathers

Preamble:

After seeing on twitter that both El Matador and Popper were going to be out today as they were traveling, and seeing no one else speak up for the 5am shield lock run… YHC realized that it may be a very lonely run through the 2 mile loop. I showed up with one plan for the beatdown, but after having a fun solo run, I called an audible and decided whoever showed up at 5:30 for the beatdown would get to do it with me again… but with some pain stations along the way.

Warm-O-Rama:

Looked like there would just be 5 this morning at the Hooch, but we saw Pooh Bear coming in hot. He joined us for some SSH and Moroccan Night Club. That made 6 mighty men to run the loop.

The Thang:

First leg. Run to PNC bank. We stopped in the parking lot for 5 Burpees, 10 Merkins, 20, LBCs, and 30 Squats.

Second Leg. Run to Perimeter Sign on corner of Old Alabama and Peachtree Parkway. Find a spot on the sidewalk for 5 Burpees, 10 Merkins, 20, LBCs, and 30 Squats.

3rd Leg. Run down Old Alabama and into Perimeter Church driveway. Find safe area in parking lot to the right. 5 Burpees, 10 Merkins, 20, LBCs, and 30 Squats.

4th Leg. Run up the hill toward pool and hang a right toward stop sign which leads towards Homer’s Donut. This leg was the most fun as we had more time to just talk. I had thought of stopping at the donut for some bear crawl fun, but we just kept running. Hang a left onto Medlock Crossing Parkway. Run down and around toward State Bridge. Stopped in front of Arium Apartments. 5 Burpees, 10 Merkins, 20, LBCs, and 30 Squats.

Continue run toward State Bridge. Crossed street and continued up State Bridge toward entrance to shopping center. We ended up at the flag with about 15 minutes left. Since YHC was most winded, and 15 minutes of Mary with 6 of us seemed silly, we ran the parking lot once. We did stop back at the flag for some circle mary. Sunshine was upset that meatball took his standard Gas Pumper exercise, so he made us run another parking lot lap.

It was a small group, but we had a good time this morning as we switched things up from our norm.

COT:

Prayers for all traveling and having others coming in town.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It’s gonna be a Homer Q tomorrow morning at the SandLot. Come on out if you’re able to make it. We’ve got several holes on the Q sheet over the next month. I challenge you 5 who were there this morning to fill that in.
