Running Blindly

AO: The Norseman

When: 12/31/2019

QIC: Zohan

PAX (4): Pumba, Ha-ha, Nacho Libre, Zohan

Preamble:

I grabbed the (literally) last opportunity I had to both Q and try a new AO in 2019. I’ve been called a Nomad by some PAX for my tendency to visit different AOs. I highly recommend it. Lots of fun.

Warm-O-Rama:

Short mosey, followed by tying shoelaces (ok, not officially an exercise but had to be done), 20 SSH, 10 Windmill, 10 Sprinklers and 20 Mountain Climbers.

The Thang:

We grabbed 2 girlfriends from Ha-ha and run a short distance uphill in the parking lot to start with a Dora. 100 Shoulder presses, 150 Curls and 200 Benches while the partner runs down to the flag and back up.

We left the girlfriends on the side and continued to the bleachers. YHC surveyed the AO on Monday to plan the workout, but thought that we begin in a different section of the park. The plan was to use benches or a wall for the next piece. As we started with 20 lunges IC, it was clear the bleachers would be making more noise than the PAX, so Ha-ha and Nacho led us to another section of the park with a low wall where we continued – 10 Derkins, 20 Dips, 10 Box Jumps, 20 Dirty Handshakes (plank near the wall, raise one hand to the top of the wall, raise the other, now back down. That’s 1), 10 Erkins. The first set was done IC, second set OYO.

We left the wall and moseyed to another parking lot. As we were running toward some lights, YHC was blinded (foggy glasses and direct light don’t mix well) but trusted the PAX he was following. Next exercise was 11s with Dancing Bears and Copper Head Squats. We were not able to complete the 10th round as we had to mosey back to flag and pick up the girlfriends we left aside. No time for Mary either.

COT:

A former student of Nacho died last week.

Groupie is suffering from burns from before Christmas.

Prayers for people who do not have family and friends around them during the holidays and end of year, as they especially need to be lift up.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Personally, this has been a great year for me. Many thanks to F3 and the PAX I’m working out with. I am sure that the success I’ve had in other areas of my life (family, work) is tied to the F3 principles I’ve tried to live by and to the men I’m surrounded by in the early mornings.

I don’t know what the future holds, so I might be running somewhat blindly, but there are other men in front of me I can follow and it’s a privilege to be leading others when I’m the one ahead.
