Preamble:

It was one year ago that El Matador EH’d me (well… it may have been a tag team EH with his M and mine) as we met for Twisted Taco after a Piano Recital. I can’t believe that it’s been a year. Ups and Downs in the gloom, but glad to be with these men and lead them this morning.

Warm-O-Rama:

No FNGs. Run around Parking lot to normal empty hurricane’s parking area for some warmups:

  • SSH
  • Windmill
  • Copperhead Squats
  • Moroccan Night Club

Mosey to parking lot up from outdoor chapel.

  • merkins
  • Imperial Walker

The Thang:

Mosey down to firepit area. Grab some wall.

Kicking off the Thang with some 11s – Step-ups and Dips

Mosey around trail and lake to backside of Perimeter Church.

Partner up for DORA. One pax running lake while partner exercies. 100 Merkins, 200 LBCs, 300 Squats.

American Hammer, Gas Pumper, Freddy Mercury for six.

Short mosey over to ‘the hill’ to Bernie Sanders up to sidewalk. Continue Mosey to Homer’s Donut.

Been a while since we’ve done this one. Normally earlier. Had to watch for incoming vehicular traffic while bear crawl around roundabout.

Indian Run back to hurricane’s wall (“Cross when you can almost disaster”) and then realize that trash truck was sitting in our wall space… audible –> Ended up with some Parking Lot Suicides (thanks Readymix for quick thinking)

Finally ended up at the flag for 5 or 6 Mary exercises.

COT:

Prayers for Lucy (Big South’s Daughter.)

Prayer request for Meatball.

Prayers for Dawn.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

There have been MANY days where I’ve failed to get the whole alarm clock thing right and missed a workout. There have been many true fartsack moments where I was awake and just didn’t want to leave the bed. There were moments this year where I hated everything we were doing in the beatdown… but there’s not one time that I left upset that I showed up and did the work.

Thanks men for sharpening me and for pushing me. I’m accelerating and that’s what I need to keep reminding myself moving forward.
