Preamble:

YHC had a Halloween-themed BD planned for this Monday, and the weather gods totally accommodated with thick fog this morning.  Had to arrive a little early before the BD for some setup, and a few PAX had a suspicion of things come when YHC approached from the football field.

Warm-O-Rama:

Moseyed to the playground.

Warm-up #1 – Foggy start

  • 15 SSH
  • 10 Mountain Climbers
  • 10 Weed Pickers
  • 20 Forward Arm circles
  • 20 Reverse Arm circles

Warm-up #2 – Burpees to Ghostbusters

Played Ghostbusters song.  Every time the word “Ghost” was said, the PAX had to drop for a Burpee.

The Thang:

Thang #1 – Apple Bobbing Races

Moseyed to the football fields where two buckets were setup with water/apples for a nice refreshing face-dip in cool water.  Got some mumble chatter from the germaphobes in the PAX.

Two volunteer PAX lined up at the buckets. At the start of the whistle, the two PAX bobbed for an apple, then bear-crawled to the 10 yd line, then sprinted to the 50 yd line, then back to the 10 yd line, and finish with crab walk.  The entire routine had to be done with keeping the apple in the mouth.

The rest of the PAX did typical coupon exercises while waiting for a turn – Curls, Overhead Press, Skull Crushers, Romanian Deadlift, etc.

Winners got first-dibs on a health snack.

Thang #2 – Tombstone of Pain

Setup two Tombstones of Pain – one for a “Trick”, and one for a “Treat”.  PAX divided up into 4 groups and lined-up on one sideline.  For each group, 1 PAX bear-crawled across field to opposite sideline, and reached into a Pumpkin Bucket for a ticket that indicated a Trick or Treat.  The PAX sprinted back to the rest of the group to start the Trick or Treat excercise.  Cycled through each team member several times.
