Bonnie B is a Beast

AO: Gladiator

When: 08/07/2018

QIC: Pellets

PAX (): Laces, Viking, Sox, Shrinkage, Delicious, Tebow, Puddle Jumper, Kegger, Brownie, Wolverine, Scar, Fannie Mae, Pellets, Spandex, (FNG) Wingman

It’s Showtime.  New start time of 5:15 at the Gladiator and what better way to kick it off with the Iron Pax Challenge.  YHC had been looking forward to Q’ing at the Gladiator since signed up a couple weeks ago.  Great group of dudes and have been impressed with the FNG’s that  continue to come out.  Not typically a planner but after getting the rundown of Iron Pax Week 1 workout I did a time trial with my 2.0 last night to make sure we would have enough time to get in 4 rounds.  The 2.0 beat me in the time trial and assume that’s why my M calls him Maverick and me Goose.

Warm-Up:

  • Weed Pickers (Spandex inquired later if I was on speed with my rapid cadence)
  • SSH

The Thang:

Lined the Pax up along the end line of the soccer field and laid out the friendly design of the Iron Pax Challenge:

4 Rounds for Time

  • 50 Air Squats
  • 40 Big Boi Situps
  • 30 Merkins
  • 20 Bonnie Blairs
  • 10 Burpees

The gun goes off and we looked like we were at a Georgia Tech game with the Air Squats and dudes bobbing up and down.  Out of breath already on Round 1 and starting to dive into the burpees our new FNG Wingman arrives and after a 10-12 second max description of exercises he jumps right in and starts hammering away.  Probably wondering what have I done to my EH guy (Sox) to deserve this and what the heck is a Merkin.  The Pax was a quiet group today as everyone was giving it all they had battling through BonnieB’s and the debilitating transition to Burpees.

Great job Laces laying down the fastest time at the Gladiator with several others not far behind.

As the Pax were finishing up the challenge several Pax led us through some Mary.  Scar provided us with his rallying call of “this is the best part of your day men.”  Hardly feels like it at the time, but think he’s on to something there.

With 5 minutes to go everyone back on their feet for a swift mosey around the soccer field and back to the flag to beat the buzzer.

COT:

Call for action looking for new guys to step up and Q at the Gladiator.  Being a relative newbie I’ve had opportunity to Q a few times now.  Still shaky sometimes on the cadence, but the great thing about F3 is although guys may give you some good natured ribbing there’s not a better group of men to have your back and help you out anytime you need it as we are all out here to push ourselves and be better men today than we were yesterday.  Pleasure meeting you today FNG Wingman honored to have you out.  Prayers for us to spread love to the people we come in contact with today as well as continue to strive to be better husbands, fathers, and friends.
