They don’t call me Sprocket for nothing

AO: Bad Apple

When: 06/16/2021

QIC: Sprocket

PAX (7): G.O.A.T., Chalupa, Ollie, Caffie, [the real] Woody, Heidi

Preamble:

51 Trips around the sun. With a bum foot the victim of a stress fracture, I thought of how I could Q my birthday beatdown and give my foot a break. So, I loaded my trusty trail bike into the truck and got ready to celebrate the beginning of the next revolution.

Warm-O-Rama:

Respect-aged dudes take it slow, so, started with disclaimer, warmed up with Abe Vigoda-styled Windmills X15, Hillbillys X15 and burpees X5. Q then threw a leg over his bike and pedaled off with PAX following via mosey.

The Thang:

Birthday burpees-a-plenty

Thanks to a fellow respect-aged PAX, Q was able to “borrow” a few workout out ideas while leading the PAX around classrooms to the basketball court. Every so often, Q directed PAX to stop [their] run/Q’s ride and do 5 burpees. Once the court was reached, slow/easy mosey to picnic tables where 3 rounds of the following were performed:
10 step-ups; 20 dips.

Back to the court to grab 5 more burpees and Q’s bike where we proceeded across soccer field to parking lot. Q then directed PAX to parking stops of their own for 6 rounds of Mikes ‘n Merks:
Rounds 1-3: 10 Mike Tysons, lunge walk across lot, 10 Merkins, lunge walk back
Rounds 4-6: 05 Mike Tysons, bear crawl across log, 05 Merkins, bear crawl back

Another round of 5 burpees

Took trail to core station where Q called an audible and directed PAX towards coupon pile where they selected coupons of their own, back to top of hill for 3 rounds of the following:
curls, OHP and skull crushers, 20 reps of each.

Returned coupons and proceeded to pull-up station for a quick round of Morning Call:
5 pull-ups for each PAX with Merkins to match for PAX in waiting.

Took trail to driveway where final round of burpees (10) was completed. Q directed PAX back to the flag With 2 minutes left where flutters and reverse LBC’s were performed.

COT:

name-o-rama was done and thoughts and prayers were offered for those undergoing treatment for various illnesses including some very serious cases and thanks was given for the opportunity to lead some outstanding men.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

“life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around every once in a while, you could miss it” There’s truth to that saying. This year, I’m trying to make more of an effort to spend time with my family—immediate and extended. After not seeing some of them due to 2020’s events, I realize there’s no substitute for face-to-face time with those you love. Thankful for another year, thankful for my brothers in the gloom, thankful for challenges, thankful for growth. Sprocket out.
