AO: The Widowmaker

When: 06/15/2019

QIC: Pinky, Scully, Boomer

PAX (7): Mayhem, Pinky, Scully, Boomer, TopHat, Squirtle, Saint 2.0

Preamble:

7 Pax showed up for a to take in what was surely the last day of uncommonly GLORIOUS June weather.  No Q signed up today, so it was done by committee.  Major props to Pinky for stepping up for first mini Q (vQ), and for Scully and Boomer to fill out the hour.  Yours truly was so appreciative of the well rounded hour that I was volun-told to post the BB!

Warm-O-Rama:

Trip around around the parking lot, then SSH, Weed Pickers, Imperial Walkers

The Thang:

Pinky’s Thang (let’s be grownups about this)

4 Corners on the soccer field – 30 Burpees, 30 LBCs, 40 Squats, 20 Merkins.  Rinse and repeat.

Mosey over to the Widowmaker for a modified Bridge over the Nest.  Partner 1 Lunge walked while partner 2 ran to the first magnolia tree and back.  Flap Jack, and continue pushing the running point up the hill as needed until we make it to the top.  At some point I think we did a bear crawl and even a Backwards Lunge Up Hill (or BLUH…the sound you make when performing the exercise.  Need to put this one up on the Lexicon!).

Scully’s Thang

After we reached the top, Scully took over.  Mosey to the parking lot to the left for a quick defensive back drill on the parking lines. Continue over to the playground for some fun: 11s with pull ups and Swerkins!  And just to add a little spark, 5 dips at the rotunda were thrown in each lap.

Boomer’s Thang

With time running out Boomer took over for some quick hitters.  Mosey back to the soccer field for various running, Mary, and other activities (I was honestly running on fumes at this point after doing the Twisted Suprise, so my memory is a little hazy).  However, there was no forgetting the human inchworm across the field.  All PAX line up at mid field in alternating positions on the line (High plank and low plank). Heading towards the flag, the last PAX would crawl under and jump over each PAX in line until the end, where they assumed one of the two positions.  This continued all the way to the corner flag.

COT:

-Gladiator 1 year anniversary this Tuesday.  If you plan to go, remember they start early.

-Awesome job Saint and Scully putting up with another Mayhem 6 mile Twisted Surprise!   I’ll figure this out eventually!

-Please keep Boomer’s friend dealing with late stage cancer in your thoughts and prayers.
