YHC was offered the keys to the Hooch by Homer after a two week hiatus due to back issues. This was YHC’s farewell Q before moving to Anderson, SC. YHC planned a trip down memory lane based on his favorite exercises from the last 6 months for this beatdown…
25 SSH IC and it was off for a mosey to the, now defunct, wing place lot…
Many Thangs: Circle up for a High Knees Burpee Circle, all pax stay running in place high knees while pax, in order, call a “down”. Stay in place for a Merkin Circle, all pax plank while each pax, in order, performs 10 merkins. Rotated between right arm up, middle and left arm up planks to get through all 18 pax. Mosey to “Homer’s Donut” for an honorary bear crawl around the traffic circle, some mumbling ensued… mosey to the portico for a remembrance of St2.0’s burpee mile and did 10 burpees OYO. Mosey to track for bear crawl and crawl bear, in honor of Hamburglar with 10 Monkey Humpers on each side. In honor of my VQ, deconstructed burpees around the track with 10 merkins, 10 thrusts, 10 squat jumps, and 10 burpees and each 1/4 track with sprint between each. Goto steps and do a 2 legged calf raise on each step going up. Mosey (with a lunge walk in the middle to catch breath, as YHC was struggling!) to back side of, now defunct, wing place for partner BTW and 10 SSH x3. Indian Run mosey to the flag for Jack Webbs x7 and 3 minutes of MARY with Heals to Heaven, LBC and Dyeing Cockroach to finish it out right on time!
YHC shared about Vulnerability and Courage. We were made for community and sharing your struggle is not weakness, it multiplies your Joy and divides your struggle. A great part of F3 is not just the physical work out, it is the relationship and trust that is won through struggling together physically, emotionally and spiritually.
YHC has had the best 6 months of his life in a long time due to choosing the Gloom and engaging with the F3 Nation. I’ve had the privilege of growing to be able to lead men here, The Gladiator and The Toilet Bowl (Anderson, SC, my new home AO) as well as introducing a few men to the Gloom. If you would have told me a year ago that this would be one of my greatest joys, I would have laughed… “I don’t do men’s groups and certainly am not gonna wake up at 5am to go work out in the cold, rain, heat…” Yet, here I am, blessed and grateful for the opportunity. Love you guys and will look forward to posting as a guest in the future as both my daughters still live here in the greater Atlanta area.
“Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.…” Ephesians 3:20-21
