When: 03/05/2021

QIC: Crab Cake

PAX (7): Snowman, Whiz, Deuce, Schneider, Kokomo, Clyde, Crab Cake

Preamble:

YHC scoured the inter webs looking for something to shape the upcoming BD.  It just so happens that in 1807 on March 5 Ludvwig van Beethoven unveiled his 4th Symphony in B.

Am I a classically trained musician? No

Do I even know how the song sounds? No

Will I bring a speaker to play it for the PAX during the BD? No

Does Burpee start with a B?  You betcha.. it’s Perfect

Warm-O-Rama:

SSH, Weedpickers, Willie Mays Hayes, Good Mornings IC

Mosey to the first Parking lot

The Thang:

A Symphony has 4 main Movements.

Movement 1: Brisk and Lively

  • Bear Crawl 10 Parking Lot spaces
  • Bonnie Blair 10 alpha count
  • Burpees 10 count
  • BBSU 10 count

During Movement 1, there was a movement of another sort. While Schneider searched for offending sewers and drains, Clyde knew exactly what happened. Deuce thought he positioned himself correctly but this one was a super-spreader event.  When will you all learn?  Snowman, YHC, and even Kokomo knew – never stand next to Whiz during his first Bonnie Blair.

YHC made a mental note to pray for Whiz’s M during COT.  She escaped one morning of sackfarts but no telling what happens in the days to come.  No wonder Whiz posts so often.

On to the next parking lot

Movement 2: Slow and Lyrical

The count is upped but PAX were informed to mind their form with each exercise

  • Bear Crawl 15 Parking Lot spaces
  • Bonnie Blair 15 alpha count
  • Burpees 15 count
  • BBSU 15 count

On to the next parking lot

Movement 3: Dancy

WTF is Dancy?  Let’s just do these as fast as possible.  Count is upped cuz we’re here to accelerate

  • Bear Crawl 20 Parking Lot spaces
  • Bonnie Blair 20 alpha count
  • Burpees 20 count
  • BBSU 20 count

On to the final parking lot

Movement 4: Fast and Furious

On the Q’s call, exercise as fast as possible.  We’re gonna end this symphony in a final chaotic crescendo

Bear Crawl for 10 secs…switch to Burpees.. back to Bear Crawl.. BBSU…Bonnie Blairs.. Burpees.. BBSU…Bear Crawl..BBSU..Burpees..Bonnie Blairs..Burpees..Bear Crawl..BBSU..Bonnie Blairs..Burpees..etc etc

It was during this movement that Schneider finally recalled the tune of Beethoven’s 4th Symphony.  Beautiful melodies exuded forth.  Other PAX followed in harmony.

Closing Act

In an effort to work on “pulls”, PAX gathered at an elevated metal fence for ‘Fence pull ups’.  When one PAX performs a fence pull up, the fence is happy but when 7 Stallions jump on, not so much.  To keep our FOCO taxes in check for coming years, we audible’d.  Up to the building for Balls to the Wall – as long as you can.  Performed twice to get stronger.

To journey back to the flag, PAX ran Sprint Intervals or as Whiz informed us ‘Fartlek’ Fart Licks.  (Really Whiz? Is everything fart related for you?? sheesh..)

Update: Fartlek, which means “speed play” in Swedish, is continuous training with interval training. Fartlek runs are a very simple form of a long distance run. Fartlek training “is simply defined as periods of fast running intermixed with periods of slower running.” – Wikipedia

Closed up with a round of Mary’s where each PAX lead an exercise.  Props to Kokomo for doing a great job leading his first exercise!!!!

Someone claimed YHC was trying to create some strava art to match the theme.  I have no idea what you’re talking about…

COT:

  • Snowman’s colleagues looking for a places to land and praise for Snowman’s great start during the mgmt transition
  • Kokomo’s M’s grandfather’s health
  • Praise for Kokomo’s transition into ownership and preparations for the upcoming busy season
  • Crab Cake’s work meeting expected to be a bit heated and with high pressure
  • F3 Alpha PAX taking on the Star Course this weekend!  We’re cheering you on!!!

Naked-Man Moleskin:

A Symphony only works when each person plays their instrument to the best of their abilities in connection with each other.  Each morning we bring our A-game in the gloom to the BDs.  We bring our strengths, weakness, personalities and backgrounds.  We each work as hard as possible but together.  We follow the Q and support him in every way possible.

As men, we’re put in positions to Q our families, our teams at work, and our communities.  Let’s lead on.. creating excellent symphonies this coming week.
