Preamble:

When Pitstop asked if someone can cover the Q for today, YHC grabbed it and then sat down to come up with a plan. A rainy day was expected so a mostly-under-the-pavilion beatdown was chosen. It didn’t rain when YHC rolled in and can’t say I was disappointed. It was cold, but I knew we’ll get warm in a short order.

Warm-O-Rama:

We did not wait for the NLB men, who are sometimes a minute or two late, and started mosey on time. Disappointed someone when we realized they won’t be coming either.

Finished the mosey with some Ass Kickers and High Knees. Circled up for Mountain Climbers, Hill Billies and Moroccan Night Clubs.

The Thang:

Coupons TABATA

YHC explained we’re going to work with coupons for the next 20 plus minutes, so choose responsibly. After yesterday’s cinder workout at the Gladiator YHC tried to be conservative but ended up too much on the lighter side. Could have pushed myself more.

A speaker was ready in the pavilion, along with a pre-configured TABATA app.

Every round (70 seconds, not that the PAX were told) will begin with 5 burpees and then AMRAP of a given coupon exercise till the end of the round.

Round 1 – Curls

Round 2 – Big Boy Sit Ups (with coupon)

Round 3 – Shoulder Presses

Round 4 – American Hammers (with coupon)

Round 5 – Squats (with coupon)

Round 6 – Skull Crushers

30 seconds rest. Rinse and repeat for a total of 3 sets. No rest at the end of the 3rd set.

YHC likes an occasional BD that doesn’t require counting (or heavy panting), cause then mumble chatter is enabled.

After the 3rd Skull Crushers the sequence was altered and moved to 1 minute of Men Makers, still beginning with 5 burpees. Then again.

In total we did 100 Burpees plus a good number of men makers, if any number above 1 could be considered ‘good’ at that point.

 

Modified BLIMPS

We left the coupons on under the pavilion and stepped out to the parking lot for modified BLIMPS.

10 alpha count Bonnie Blairs, 20 4-count LBCs (that means 40 LBCs), 30 alpha count Imperial Walkers, 40 Merkins, 50 Plank Jacks and 60 Squats. After each exercise a quick run around the roundabout.

 

3 minutes of Mary

We went back to the pavilion to make a final use of the coupons.

First were Flatter Kicks, holding the coupons overhead.

Then 10 OYO Turkish Get Ups with the coupons. Lay down. Try to stand up without using your hands, or with little use if possible. That’s one.

COT:

All was well with the men today. Saturday has the regular Widow Maker BD, NLB BD in the afternoon and some PAX will be touring midtown Atlanta as part of the 13 or 26 miler Star Course.
