Fellowship Burpee Game

Preamble:

Still not warm or totally dry, but was a nice morning overall for a beatdown.  Our beatdowns are always heavy on Fitness but I decided to integrate additional Fellowship into the Beatdown.  Starting and finishing at the lake was especially beautiful today and we even saw some magical floating ducks.

Warm-O-Rama:

Pretty basic warm-up with some humor unwittingly added in by Surely:

-Side Straddle Hops

-Weed Pickers

-Imperial Walkers

-Arm & Neck Rolls

-COVIDS

The Thang:

Two Phases:

1.)The Famous Windward Merkin Mile
-Up the hill with 10 Merkin at each cross street – 60 total
-Back down with 10 LBC at each cross street…well except for when it coincides with a woman walking who was already freaked out about a group of guys running around in the dark.
-Merkin mile claimed Hanson as a victim, but hopefully it’s just a minor calf strain and he is back out there soon
2.) Down into the Windward Sports Book with now just 8 PACs for everyone’s favorite game show – THE BURPEE FELLOWSHIP GAME with YHC as your smiling host.
-Divided into two teams and faced each other
-Each person created a True/False question about themself designed to help the whole group get to know each other better.
-We alternated posing the questions to the opposing member of the team. When the team answered properly the team posing the question dropped for two burpees. When the team answered incorrectly, they dropped for two burpees.
-In between rounds of the game we ran the sports park lot hill and did leg reps: 20 jump squats and 20 Bonnie Blairs.
If my description doesn’t make sense you can watch when this airs on the WB sometime likely soon. It will clearly be the next Who Wants to be a Millionaire for guys who like to get up early in the morning and give each other strange names.
We also learned some interesting things about each such as Townie wears Spanx, Walkie Talkie was a smooth talker in kindergarten (pun intended) and that TN is basically a foreign country.
Finished the workout with a mosey back to the lake and 20 American Hammers watching the ducks float by as the sun rose.

COT:

Special Prayer request for my 2nd cousin Partick who at the young age of 14 is now with our Heavenly Fathers and request for comfort for my cousin Megan, Aunt Linda and the rest of the family.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I ‘Q’d’ with a heavy heart today after learning of the death of my young 14 Y/O 2nd cousin last night.  His life was painful and challenging but he had a great fighting spirt  that would have made him one hell of a F3er.  It is great reminder to put of our temporary pain and discomfort in perspective and  appreciate and love our families every minute of every day.
