CLIMB and Carry On

AO: The Widowmaker

When: 01/18/2020

QIC: Mayhem

PAX (13): Zohan, Casper, Birdy, Pumba, Ha ha, Lefty, Dosido, Saint20, Cookie, Sculley, Mayhem, Special K, Pinky

Preamble:

With multiple weekends taken up recently with 5k races, YHC was excited to be back at the helm of the Widowmaker BD after a long hiatus.  I got a taste last week with Sculley’s Nolan Richardson (aka 40 mins of Hell), but it had been months since I’d spent any quality time with the Widowmaker herself. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder, though based on the mumble chatter before we began, it didn’t seem like everyone else felt that way.  But I was sure I could change the PAXs minds…

Warm-O-Rama:

Lap around the parking lot

-15 SSH

-10 Weed Pickers

-15 Imperial Walkers

The Thang:

Thang 1

Straight to the bottom of the Widowmaker for a CLIMB session

Crab Cake x 25 (Alpha count)

LBC x 50 (also Alpha count…so basically do 100)

Incline Merkins x 100

Monkey Humpers x 50

Burpees x 25

Run to the top of the hill between each set. In an effort to keep the group together, YHC provided a restrictor plate (#40 sandbag) for the rabbit.  It worked 🙂

Thang II

A Growruck 15 Throwback! 2 Man partner carries around the nature trail.  Growruck alumni were divided up a to provide instruction to those who hadn’t received Cadre Danny’s instructions last August.  Great job by everyone!

Thang III

After a final/painful mosey back up the Widowmaker to the soccer field for some Mary: The Iron Hulk.

1:4 ratio of merkins to Jack Webbs. 10 sets that increased each time, ending with 10:40.  Nice burn to finish the workout.

COT:

Ha ha’s Barkeley’s Marathon returns on 2/1 at 0700.  Great CSAUP opportunity. If you are unfamiliar with the real Barkeley’s, do yourself a favor and watch it on Amazon Prime.

Multiple prayers were raised for friends and family asking for strength and healing.  Sorry I can’t remember them all, should have done the BB on Saturday when it was fresher.

3 Pax for the Pre Ruck, and 3 Pre-runners putting in some speed work at the middle school track.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It’s great to come back after so long to see so many new faces.  Love this AO and great to see it continuing to grow.
