Moving with Weights

AO: The Bridge

When: 01/17/2020

QIC: Homer

PAX (14): Homer, Popper, Hamburglar, Meat Ball, Feathers, Birdie, Stickers, Boomer, Flo, Puff Daddy, Ready Mix, Ace, Saint2.0, Julius

Preamble:

5 pre-runners apparently showed up at between what sounds like 4:30 and 5:00 to get in some extra credit. They were coming in from all directions as the PAX gathered around the flag. Some with rucks, most with blocks… and then there is Flo who has a whole toy box of weighty things. Animal (one of the pre-runners) had an early trip to the airport scheduled and had to skip the beatdown.

We grabbed our eclectic weightage and headed toward the town green oval. Looked like some late comers coming in hot, but didn’t appear to be any FNG’s, so we took a mosey lap around the green as we waited for all to gather.

Warm-O-Rama:

Once all were together, YHC wanted to Mosey through the woods and back to track.  Some of the PAX had not been this way before as it’s a sometimes used entrance for pre-runners. Merkins mid way, circled back for the 6 and eventually made our way through the dark trail back to town green.

Back to lawn for SSH, Windmills, weedpickers, lil’ baby arm circles, and Moroccan night club.

The Thang:

Thang #1

Everyone grabbed their weight and lined up on the town center track. Instructions were #meh… but the idea was to keep a quick-ish pace walking around the oval, while one PAX handed off his coupon, dropped and did 10 burpees. After he finished, he would run to catch up with the group, grab his coupon and continue walking.

Thang #2

AMRAP (based on time). Starting at the grassy knoll, PAX would complete 10 arm curls, walk to first base for 10 squats, walk to second for 10 overhead press, walk to third for 10 skull crushers and walk back home. Descending rounds 10 to 1.

Ace kept lapping us. We’re gonna need to find him a bigger track or a bigger weight.

With a few minutes to 6:15, we circled up for a round or two of Mary.

COT:

Prayers for those sick and needing healing. Lifted up our buddy, Pooh Bear. Prayers for those traveling and for us to continue to take our responsibility as leaders in our families and work seriously.

Second F at Ready Mix for NFC/AFC championships on Sunday

9 of us went for Coffee/Juicyterria at Press Blend Squeeze. Thanks Julius.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

The past few beatdowns at the Hooch had been some of the simplest yet very tough. With Bearways to Heaven, Saint’s Dice and Mucho Blimpos recently on the Q’s mind, a lesser impact, yet simple and tough plan was created. Not a ton of mumble chatter so I think the PAX had a pretty good workout.
