I get knocked down, but I get up again

AO: The Hooch

When: 01/13/2020

QIC: Saint2O

PAX (17): Pooh Bear, Splinter, Readymix, Scrooge, Boomer, Sunshine, Meatball, Birdie, Julius, Popper, Homer, Piggie, Cougar, Dawn, Flo, Feathers, Saint2O

Preamble:

There were 3 for the pre run and it was mostly dry, so we were grateful. YHC had promised the Pax that YHC would keep them relatively dry, so even though it was not actually raining, we stayed close the portico to get some cover for the celebration of this 45th trip of mine on this planet around the sun.

Warm-O-Rama:

We did a quick loop around the parking lot and then the following IC:
SSH
WP (fast)
WM (slow)
Mountain climbers
Mountain goats

The Thang:

Then we did some tubthumping with the assistance of Chumbawumba. The Pax started SSH, and when the song said “I get knocked down, but I get up again”, do a burpee. When the song was over, the count was around 27 burpees, but we may have finished early, due to not being able to hear the music from the phone very well without a speaker.

Next, YHC went and retreived the gift from my kids the previous day (they know me so well). It was a foam 12-sided workout dice with lots of fun things to do on each side. YHC told the Pax that if they got “water break” we would do something special.
We went over to the portico and chased away a truck in there possibly throwing away contraband so we could stay in the dry, as the rain picked up.
The plan was to roll the dice, and then do the exercise. Next, run across the parking lot to the movie theater entrance and back, and air chair for the six. Over the next 30-40 minutes, lots of fun was had, including more tuck jumps than we really needed, some selective merkins, and two rounds of water break that was converted into BTTW. The Pax loved it!

Then we stopped for some Mary, which consisted of: flutter kicks and nice long round of boat-canoe. Then time was up!Workout Dice

COT:

Good work, men!
Prayers for all those who hurting, and thanks for all our blessings.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Honored to lead, I have really gotten a lot from F3 over the last 2.5 years, but mostly it’s because of the great men I’ve met and gotten to know better. Thanks to them for being who they are, I appreciate you all!
