Laying a Brick

AO: The Grindstone

When: 01/04/2021

QIC: @F3Inseam

PAX (9): Swiper, Hushpuppy, Von Trappe, Snowman, McDuff, Blistex, Crab Cake (FNG), Olaf, Inseam

Preamble:

It was a balmy 31 with a decent breeze. Didn’t matter, we’d be putting in solid work and ramping up the heartrates to stay warm shortly. YHC, having come in on two wheels, gave the disclaimer and informed the PAX that he decided to exclude the typical bells and whistles and ramp up the hard work and brotherhood.

Warm-O-Rama:

Short mosey up the long A parking lot. Circle up for SSH, Weedpickers, Imperial Walkers, Moroccan Nightclubs, and Michael Phelps. Short mosey to the frozen tundra (football field).

As I type this at 8:30am I am finally getting feeling back in 50% of my a$$ cheeks…note to self, limit ab exercises when field is frozen.

The Thang:

The Thang consists of 2 mini-thangs, 1 medium thang, and 1 main-thang.

Mini-Thangs:

  1. Monkey Drill down field and back
  2. Plank Hurdles (correct way) down the field and back

Medium Thang:

  1. Red Borchetta: Sprint to the 100 and back, 75 back, 50 back, 25 back, 10 back. Perform an exercise totaling the yardage number before running back each time. 100SSH, 75 mountain climbers, 50 LBCs, 25 merkins, 10 burpees.

Main-Thang:

  1. An Inseam Oh-ridge-eh-nal. We shall call it “Inseam Suicides With Partner To Race And Push You With Exercises After Each Round” ie: ISWPTRAPYWXAER…or something like that. Here is how it goes. Think typical suicides on the football field in 10 yard increments, with a twist. First partner up with someone of like speed. Partners will race on the sprints and “spot” each other on the exercise in the endzone after each leg of the suicide. Exercises for yards 10-50 are Merkins/BBSU 15 of each, your partner keeps count, checks form, and encourages max effort. Exercises for 60-100 are Incline Merkins/E2K 15 of each (alpha count on E2K).

COT:

Welcome FNG Steve, now Crab Cake. Pray for sadclowns in area, goal setting and goal achieving.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

YHC promised the laying of bricks and that is what we started today gentlemen. To state what we are doing simply, please see the definitions below straight from the F3 Lexicon. The “entire thing” we are doing and working for starts with one brick. All we have to do is wake up, and lay one brick a day. Giving max effort for 45 minutes, often a bit less considering formalities such as the warm up and MOM. I look forward to another year of acceleration with you guys!

Side note: this concept goes far beyond the first F.
